Congratulations to Elizabeth Unni, PhD, who was selected as the new Co-Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Patient-Reported Outcomes (JPRO).
Dr. Unni is Chair of the Department of Social, Behavioral, and Administrative Sciences at the Touro College of Pharmacy, in addition to leading several post graduate programs.
Dr. Unni’s research interest is in health services and includes medication non-adherence, patient’s beliefs in their medicines and illnesses, health literacy, and self-efficacy.
Her interest lies in developing theoretical models that explain medication non-adherence based on the various psychosocial variables that define medication adherence. She has also developed a self-reported scale to measure medication adherence, the Medication Adherence Reasons Scale (MAR-Scale). She has been an ISOQOL member since 2013 and has been actively involved, serving as Patient Engagement SIG Chair, as a member of multiple committees, and currently as a member of the Board of Directors.
Dr. Unni has officially begun her term in March 2024. We extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Chih-Hung Chang for his service as the Co-Editor-in-Chief and his support of Dr. Unni as she assumes editorial duties alongside Co-Editor-in-Chief, Dr. Rasa Ruseckaite.
