Travel Information
Transfer to Hyatt Regency Milwaukee
Milwaukee’s international airport offers over 30 nonstop flights, and the city is only a 90-minute drive or train ride from Chicago, Illinois. If you’re flying into the Chicago O’Hare International Airport, here are some easy ways to get to Milwaukee:
Take the Coach USA bus from O’Hare to the Milwaukee Intermodal Station. (Recommended)
The Coach USA ride is about 1 hour and 45 minutes, and tickets start at $36 USD one-way. When leaving O’Hare, follow signs for car rentals to reach the Multi-Modal Facility (MMF). The MMF is accessible from each terminal via the Airport Transit System, a rail system that transports passengers between terminals. Coach USA riders must board at MMF Bus Bays #5, #6, or #7.
If taking Coach USA from Milwaukee Intermodal Station to O’Hare, all bus departures and arrivals are from bus bay #9. There will be a sign with the Coach USA logo. It is recommended to wait outside there, as departures are not always announced inside.
Take the Amtrak train from Chicago Union Station to the Milwaukee Intermodal Station.
You can take a taxi from the O’Hare Airport to Union Station, or use the CTA Blue Line train, which provides service directly to and from the airport. If arriving in Terminals 1, 2 or 3, follow signs in O’Hare to “CTA Trains” or “Trains to City.” If arriving in Terminal 5, follow signs to the Airport Transit System. Ride the rail to Terminal 2 and then follow signs for “CTA Trains” or “Trains to City.” Machines are available at the CTA station to purchase a Ventra ticket for $5 USD.
Board the CTA Blue Line toward Forest Park or UIC-Halsted and exit the train at Clinton (approximately 47 minutes). Follow signs for N Exit and walk about two blocks to reach Union Station.
From Chicago Union Station, you can take Amtrak’s Hiawatha Train to Milwaukee Intermodal Station. The ride is 90-minutes, and tickets start at $23 USD one-way. The Hiawatha train boards at gates A and B of the boarding lounge on the east side of the north concourse. Milwaukee Intermodal is the last stop of the train line.
Take an Uber or taxi from O’Hare to the Hyatt Regency Milwaukee.
It is about 80 miles / 129 km from the O’Hare airport to the conference hotel and is about 90-minute car ride. Prices may range from $120-200 USD.

Additional Information
Passport and Visa
For attendees requiring additional entry documentation, advance travel planning and early visa application are important, as visa applications are subject to a great degree of scrutiny. It is strongly suggested that all attendees contact their local embassy to determine what, if any, travel documents they will need to travel to the United States of America. Attendees are responsible for completing their own research pertaining to necessary documents.
The ISOQOL office will send letters of invitation upon request. Please note, in order to receive this letter, participants must be the presenting author on an accepted abstract at the Annual Conference. ISOQOL cannot issue letters for family members or other individuals without an abstract.
It should be understood that this letter is only to help participants raise travel funds or obtain a visa and is not a commitment on the part of ISOQOL to provide financial support.
To find out if a visa is required to enter the country, or how long an application will take to process, please check with your local embassy. Please note that ISOQOL is unable to contact the Embassy on your behalf. It is the responsibility of each delegate to make the necessary arrangements related to this process. We advise you to request a letter of invitation from ISOQOL at your earliest convenience.
To request a letter of invitation, email the ISOQOL Office at conference@isoqol.org. Please include the following:
- Full name, postal, and email address of each individual requesting a letter of invitation
- Embassy or consulate to which the letter should be addressed
Letters of invitation will be emailed to the requesting individual, NOT to the embassy or consulate. Please allow up to five (5) business days for processing your request.

Health and Safety Guidance
ISOQOL is committed to hosting a safe and engaging Annual Conference. Attendance at any event now comes with some risk of contracting COVID-19. Although ISOQOL will NOT require or check attendee’s COVID-19 vaccination status, we encourage attendees to be up to date on their COVID-19 vaccinations. Prior to the conference, ISOQOL encourages attendees who experience symptoms indicative of COVID to self-test 72-24 hours prior and only attend if their most recent test is negative. While mask wearing is NOT required, individuals are very welcome to wear masks if they would like to. All attendees must respect the mask choices of their fellow attendees. ISOQOL will have masks available onsite at the registration desk for those who need them. If an attendee tests positive for COVID-19 during the conference, the individual should begin isolating immediately and is encouraged to let their close contacts know. Attendees are encouraged to travel with their own COVID-19 rapid test kits or to find a nearby testing location.
