Quality of Life Research
The Official Journal of the International Society of Quality of Life Research is seeking multiple Associate Editors.
We are seeking candidates with knowledge of psychometrics, child health or preference measurement, but we will consider applications regardless of area of expertise.
Candidates for Associate Editor should have:
- A broad
knowledge of the field of quality of life research.
- A strong record of peer-reviewed publications in the field of
quality of life research and some publications in Quality of Life
Research.
- A commitment to the peer-review process and the editorial
responsibilities including:
- Identifying appropriate referees for submitted manuscripts
- Evaluating the merits of manuscripts, based on both referee
reports and her/his own
judgment, and making final decisions regarding the
disposition of those manuscripts.
- Communicating effectively with authors, peer reviewers,
other members of the
editorial board, and the publisher (Springer Netherlands).
- Timeliness in carrying out these tasks is extremely important.
- Experience as a peer reviewer is required. Previous experience
with comparable editorial activities is desirable.
- Doctoral degree in relevance field is preferred.
The Springer Netherlands central editorial office carries out day-to-day administrative work (i.e., preparing correspondence, tracking of manuscripts, etc.).
AEs can expect to spend at least one-half day a week on their editorial duties. They receive minimal or no financial compensation for their service, but previous AEs have found the experience to be rewarding.
Many of them appreciated the opportunity to contribute to the advancement of quality of life research.
